InnovateX Connect '26 was more than a developer conference. It was a full-day gathering of students, developers, professionals, speakers, community members, media partners, and collaborators brought together by a shared interest in technology, learning, and building meaningful connections.
Hosted at JIS University and organized by InnovateX Engineers Community together with GDG on Campus JIS University, the event welcomed participants from multiple colleges and universities and created a space where technical learning met real-world interaction.
With three industry-focused speakers, community discussions, networking, interviews, partner interactions, swags, and plenty of conversations in between, the day turned into a complete developer-community experience.
About InnovateX Connect '26
InnovateX Connect '26 was designed as a developer-focused conference that brought students and professionals together under one roof.
The event focused on practical learning, industry exposure, networking, technical discussions, and community interaction. Participants came from a wide range of engineering colleges, universities, technical institutions, and professional backgrounds.
The goal was simple: create a space where people could learn directly from industry professionals, talk to speakers beyond the stage, meet developers from other institutions, and leave with more than just notes from technical sessions.
The event ultimately brought together 130 attendees, with a mix of students and working professionals representing a diverse developer ecosystem.
Opening and Introduction
The conference officially began with an introduction to InnovateX Connect '26, the organizing communities, the objectives of the event, and the overall flow of the day.
The opening highlighted the collaboration between InnovateX Engineers Community and GDG on Campus JIS University, while also acknowledging the speakers, partners, sponsors, media representatives, volunteers, and attendees who made the event possible.
The session set the tone for the day: practical, interactive, developer-focused, and community-driven.
Speaker Session 1: Avik Agarwala
The first technical session was led by Avik Agarwala, AI Engineer at TCS.
His session, "Beyond Ideas: Design Thinking, Innovation and the Art of Building", explored what happens after an idea is born.
The discussion focused on turning ideas into practical solutions, thinking beyond the initial concept, understanding users, approaching problems with a builder mindset, and developing the discipline required to actually ship something useful.
The session gave participants a broader perspective on innovation by moving the conversation beyond simply "having an idea" and toward understanding how products, systems, and solutions are shaped through design thinking and execution.
Speaker Session 2: Devesh Tulshyan
The second session was conducted by Devesh Tulshyan, Full Stack (AI + Cloud) Engineer.
His session, "Hackers in Movies vs Hackers in Reality", brought a different flavour to the conference.
The discussion explored the contrast between how cybersecurity and hacking are represented in popular media and how security actually works in real-world systems.
From common misconceptions to practical security thinking, the session helped participants understand that real cybersecurity is often far more systematic, technical, and process-driven than what is shown on screen.
The topic also created plenty of audience interaction, curiosity, and discussion.
Myrad Sponsor Talk - How Data is Managed
After the first two technical talks, an awesome sponsor talk was given by Himanshu Malik. He explained on how Myrad works and the insights behind the company, and tbh it was really great to know the functionality and the working principle behind the same.
We too got some really cool stickers and swags from the Myrad session and the participant engagement was also awesome!
Wiki Kolkata Introduction Talk
We had our media partner WikiKolkata with us for the day, and we were really glad to have Mr. Arunangshu Banerjee and Mr. Debraj Biswas with us for the day. The engagement that they had creared with others was really wholesome and I am really glad to see such an out of the box work they are doing. Having them as a media partner feels proud as they are pushing technical sessions more around Kolkata.
It was my second time meeting with them in an event and so far I have seen the same energy, ethusiasm and positve vibes around.
Speaker Session 3: Sristhi Majumder
The third technical session was led by Sristhi Majumder, Systems Engineer at TCS.
Her session focused on "Building One's Own Unifier-Style Approval Engine from Scratch."
The discussion moved into a more implementation-oriented direction, giving attendees exposure to how structured approval systems can be designed and built from the ground up.
The session explored system thinking, workflow design, approval logic, engineering decisions, and the practical considerations involved in taking an idea from concept to implementation.
It served as a strong technical closing to the speaker-session segment of the conference.
Speaker Panel Discussion
After all three technical sessions, the speakers came together for an open panel discussion with the audience.
This gave attendees the opportunity to move beyond individual session topics and ask broader questions about technology, careers, industry experiences, engineering, learning, building projects, and professional growth.
The panel created a more conversational atmosphere where the audience could directly interact with all three speakers.
For many attendees, this became one of the most valuable parts of the event because it allowed them to ask questions that do not always fit inside a structured technical talk.

I was interviewd by WiKiKolkata before and the magical fact is that, once again they were back with the same energy here in the campus. WiKi kolkata media had a talk with us, the organisers and the speakers and a couple of the core tream members.
We had explained how the event moved on with time, and the future promises that we are planning to make. Some insights on the community and some planning and anticipation that we had from the meetup was shared on camera with them.
Was really happy to have Mr. Debraj Biswas behind the camera and first time meeting him in person. Once again thanks to Mr. Arunangshu Banerjee for covering us in their media.
GDG JISU and InnovateX Core Team Thank You Session
The event then moved into a dedicated acknowledgement and thank-you session for the teams behind InnovateX Connect '26.
The GDG on Campus JIS University core team and the InnovateX Engineers Community core team came together to recognize the collective effort required to make the conference happen.
From registrations and speaker coordination to venue operations, food, partner communication, media management, participant support, stage transitions, logistics, and last-minute problem solving, the event was the result of work carried out by multiple people behind the scenes.
This session was a moment to acknowledge that contribution and thank everyone who helped make the day possible.
Closing the Conference
InnovateX Connect '26 concluded with closing remarks from the organizing communities.
The final session reflected on the day's technical learning, conversations, connections, and community interactions while thanking the speakers, attendees, partners, sponsors, media representatives, volunteers, faculty members, and institutional support teams.
Photography sessions and final networking continued as attendees gradually dispersed from the venue.
By the end of the day, the event had created more than just a sequence of technical talks. It had created new conversations, new connections, social posts, interviews, memories, and plenty of ideas for what could come next.
The Day in Retrospect
With 130 attendees, participants from 31 colleges and universities, three technical speakers, media coverage, multiple sponsors and supporting partners, and a strong mix of students and professionals, InnovateX Connect '26 became a meaningful developer-community gathering.
The response from attendees was overwhelmingly positive. Participants shared their experiences through LinkedIn, Instagram, and other social platforms, while speakers and organizers were interviewed and documented throughout the day.
What stood out most was the energy of the community.
People came for the sessions, but many stayed for the conversations.
They came to listen, but also asked questions.
They came from different institutions, but by the end of the day, the boundaries between campuses, communities, and professional backgrounds felt much smaller.
That was ultimately what InnovateX Connect '26 was about: learning together, building connections, sharing experiences, and creating a space where developers could simply connect.
